Tachinomi

Irashaimase, Welcome!

The Tachinomi Pavilion is returning to the 2026 Sakura Matsuri, and in an even bigger format!

The pavilion operates as a timed-ticketed “mini sake festival,” meaning access is separate from general Matsuri admission and is organized into specific time slots to manage crowd flow and enhance the tasting experience.

TACHINOMI PAVILION: SAKE FEST!

Back by popular demand, the Matsuri offers you the chance to participate in the Japanese tradition of Tachinomi (“stand and sip”) and sample up to 10 varieties of premium Japanese sake from at least six different breweries.

Unlike the Sake 101 Experience (a guided sake tutorial), the Tachinomi Pavilion – Sake Fest! is a mini sake festival within the festival, putting you face-to-face with product representatives and brewers as you taste their sakes.

This lively, social 40-minute experience features primarily daiginjo and ginjo-grade sakes, along with special selections such as nigori (unfiltered) and tokubetsu junmai (brewer’s special), helping you discover your favorite brands and styles.

TACHINOMI PAVILION: SPIRITS & BREWS FEST!

New in 2026, the Matsuri introduces the Tachinomi Pavilion: Spirits & Brews Fest! Participate in the Japanese tradition of Tachinomi (“stand and sip”), and try up to 10 different varieties of Japanese whiskey, gin, shochu, craft beer, and premix cocktails. The Tachinomi Pavilion: Spirits & Brews Fest! is a mini festival within the festival that puts you face to face with the reps, and in some cases the brewers and distillers themselves, while you taste their wares.

This lively and social 40-minute experience introduces you to Japan’s expanding world of global spirits and brews.

Other Alcohol Options at the Matsuri: The Tachinomi Pavilion complements other beverage offerings at the main festival, such as the general Kirin Beer Gardens and the Hakutsuru Sake 101 Experience, which typically focuses on sampling seven specific types of sake and includes an educational component about the brewing process. The Tachinomi Pavilion generally offers a broader selection of spirits in addition to sake.

Safety and Ticketing: As with all alcoholic beverage areas at the festival, a 100% ID check is strictly enforced. The separate, timed-ticketing ensures responsible consumption and a high-quality experience for all participants.
